ORGANIC/GRASS FINISHED MEATS AND EGGS

The following local farms raise their livestock on pasture, “finishing” them entirely or mostly without confinement of animals, or additions of grain.  All of these farmers do not use growth hormones or antibiotics.  The result is amazing: Very lean, high quality beef, lamb, poultry and eggs low in cholesterol and rich in nutrients, amino acids and … flavor!

This approach to raising livestock – known as “pasture-based” or “grass finished” – is far healthier and more humane for the animals, as they are not confined, except briefly in the coldest winter months, in the case of beef cattle.  And what’s more, a pasture-based livestock system is ecologically regenerative rather than destructive, as grass rather than grain feeds these animals, and manure directly feeds the soil, rather than becoming a source of water pollution.  Try these meats and eggs.  You won’t be disappointed!
